SECTION 01What actually changes the price
Four things, and only four things, move a website quote more than a rounding error. Page count is the obvious one. Whether your content exists is the one people forget, and it is often the biggest single factor, because writing twelve pages of copy and sourcing photography is real work whoever does it. Whether you need e-commerce or bookings turns a website into a piece of software. And how much of the work behind the site needs automating decides whether you are buying a brochure or a system.
Everything else, the framework, the hosting, the colour palette, barely registers. If a quote varies wildly and none of those four things changed, ask why.
SECTION 02The three tiers, honestly
Most Wagga Wagga quotes land in one of three bands. A simple presence site is a handful of pages for a business that mostly gets work by word of mouth and needs somewhere credible to point people. A lead-generating site adds the local SEO structure, the service and suburb pages, and the tracking that tells you whether it is working. A system adds the parts behind the form: the follow-up, the CRM sync, the quote generation.
The jump between tier one and tier two is usually worth it. The jump to tier three is worth it only when you can point at the hours it replaces, which is why we count those hours before quoting rather than after.
SECTION 03Three quotes to be suspicious of
- The very cheap one. Usually a template with your logo dropped in. That is a real product and sometimes the right call, but you should know that is what you are buying.
- The hourly one. Hourly billing moves all the risk of a slow project onto you. Ask for a fixed price on a defined scope instead.
- The one with a monthly fee and no exit. Check who owns the domain, the hosting account and the code. If leaving means losing the site, the monthly number is not the real price.
SECTION 04What we do, and what it costs
We quote a fixed price before starting, so the number you approve is the number you pay. No hourly billing and no surprise invoice at the end. You own the domain, the hosting account, the code and the content from day one, in your name.
Before quoting we run the free audit: thirty minutes, we look at the site first, show you where enquiries are leaking and where the manual hours are going, then give you a scope and a price. You keep the audit whether you hire us or not.
SECTION 05What this will not fix
A new website will not fix a Google Business Profile that is half filled in, and for a local business that profile often moves the needle before anything on the website does. It will not fix a follow-up problem either. If enquiries already arrive and go cold, spending money on more enquiries makes the leak bigger, not smaller.
We will tell you if that is your situation rather than sell you a rebuild you do not need.
COMMON QUESTIONSFrequently asked
How much should a small business website cost in Wagga Wagga?
It depends on page count, whether your content and photos already exist, whether you need e-commerce or bookings, and how much needs automating. We quote fixed on a defined scope so the number you approve is the number you pay.
Is a cheap template website ever the right choice?
Sometimes. If you get work by word of mouth and just need somewhere credible to point people, a simple site is a reasonable buy. The problem is paying custom-build prices for template work, which is why you should ask which one you are getting.
Why do web design quotes vary so much?
Usually because the scopes are different, not the rates. Ask each quote to list page count, who writes the content, whether SEO structure is included, and who owns the result. The quotes usually stop looking so different.
Do I own the website if you build it?
Completely. The domain, hosting account, code and content are yours in your name from day one. There is no proprietary platform you have to keep paying to stay on and no exit fee.
Do I need to pay monthly for a website?
Hosting and a domain cost something, and that is unavoidable. A monthly fee beyond that should buy specific ongoing work such as SEO, content or support. If nobody can tell you what the monthly fee does, it is rent on your own site.
Want the number for your site?
The free audit gives you a scope and a fixed price in thirty minutes, plus the list of what is currently leaking. You keep it either way.
